These Terracotta money pots are hand thrown in Italy and hand painted in London. They stand between 16cms and 19cms in height.
We can now personalise the back of this pot with a name or phrase. The Painted Personalisation Option applies to the back of this Terramundi Money Pot. Please be aware that the "21" money pot comes with the number "21" on the front of the pot, and all personalisations are done on the reverse side in gold paint.
History:
These money pots have been traditionally used in Italy for over 2000 years and their hand thrown designs have remained unchanged. Examples of which can be seen in the British Museum.
Tradition:
once the first coin is dropped the money pot must be fed until full upon time it must be smashed whilst making a wish. It is customary to replace the pot and spend the money on 'good things'. Money Pots are sometimes used to house a candle or a plant once smashed. They bring good fortune. There is a fortune card inside each money pot.
